JAMES LASURDO’S TWIN TURBO MACH 1 : DOUBLE TROUBLE
Let’s hear it for the 9 second street driven late model Mustang Mach 1 crowd. What, it’s kind of quiet in that club and it should be because we don’t know of too many. As an original owner of this Mach, the need for speed was constantly tugging at James’ soul. Meanwhile, as most of his buddies or opponents as some would call them, were driving modified Cobras and nitrous powered beasts, he decided to stay naturally aspirated and he went with a stroked short block and ported heads. Next, he converted his manual transmission to a full race automatic, showing he was a serious player. He reached the heights he could attain naturally aspirated, but as his friends were going faster and faster with more and more laughing gas and supercharged boost he decided to up the ante. Enter the turbo, or shall we say “turbos”, and the rest is history. Getting beaten by his friendly foes is now an old history lesson. We wonder what the next lesson will be. Here’s a glance at some of his arsenal.
